How Much Personal Data Do You Share with Your Partner?

How Much Personal Data Do You Share with Your Partner?

Being in a relationship necessarily means that you're going to share some of your digital life with your partner. How much is too much? Do you prefer no boundaries at all, or do you keep your partner at arm's length?

Live with someone long enough and you can expect to share some types of data we normally consider very "personal." Using shared bank accounts, memorizing each other's social security numbers, or, if you're really close, merging your Netflix accounts. This is pretty run of the mill.

On the other end of the spectrum, there are apps like mCouple. This app allows partners to access each other's SMS history, Facebook messages, calls and contacts, and even GPS location. No filter, no restrictions. Just unbridled sharing.

Where on the spectrum do you land? Do you prefer to keep your lives separate and share information on a case-by-cases basis? Or do you let your love interest into every nook and cranny of your digital life? Which is scarier to share with a spouse, your social security number or your Facebook password?

Google Docs and Sheets for Android Get UI Update, Many New Features

Google Docs and Sheets for Android Get UI Update, Many New Features

Android: Google recently quietly announced it would be removing QuickOffice, the suite of office apps it purchased, from the Play Store. To compensate for that, the company's adding many of QuickOffice's features to the native Android Docs and Sheets apps.

During Google I/O, the company added the ability to natively edit .docx files on the web. One of QuickOffice's most standout features was the ability to do this on Android. Now, Google's built Microsoft Office editing directly into Docs. Similarly, you can now edit Excel spreadsheets in the Sheets app.

The new apps also brings a host of new features and changes. You can now create Microsoft Office files, spell check has been improved, you can now choose to save or open files from local storage, and many of the formatting and editing interfaces have been redesigned.

The Sheets app similarly has a ton of new features. Now you can access Excel formulas when editing Office docs, functions now autocomplete as you type them, you can insert charts, interface improvements and more. The apps appear to be rolling out on the Play Store, but Android Police has APKs for both apps that you can download now at the source link below.

How Your Credit Affects Your Car Insurance Rates, by Company and State

How Your Credit Affects Your Car Insurance Rates, by Company and State

You probably already know that your car insurance premiums can be significantly higher if you have no or poor credit. WalletHub conducted a study by state and insurance carrier to find out just how much your credit can affect your insurance rate.

The financial site obtained quotes from the five largest car insurance companies across the country, using two hypothetical, experienced drivers (male, age 36, licensed since age 20, driving a Honda Accord)—one with no credit history and one with excellent credit.

They found that for the average state, there's a 65% price difference between the excellent credit score and the no credit scenario.

Allstate seems to be the company using credit data for premium pricing most, with a 116% fluctuation, while State Farm appears to rely on it the least, with a 45% premium fluctuation. The other three insurers measured are Progressive, Geico, and Farmers Insurance.
